1952 saw the introduction of the El Dorado "Golden Anniversary" concept car, a specialty convertible from the General Motors Styling Group featuring a full assortment of deluxe accessories, four unique colors and styling touches favored by GM Styling Chief Harley Earl. Throughout the remainder of the 1950s and 1960s, the Eldorado was General Motors' styling leader, and since GM led the industry in the mid-1950s, where the Eldorado went, everyone else would tend to follow. Yes... You are correct in thinking that in 1962 Cadillac only offered the Eldorado nameplate on the Biarritz Convertible Series. However, NewstalgiaMotors.com is pleased to offer this rare, restored, matching numbers, one-off special ordered 1962 Series 62 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. This Coupe de Ville is a very highly optioned, special order Cadillac that should not be overlooked. An original California specimen with incredibly rare bucket seat interior and other Eldorado Convertible-only features that may make it the only one in existence!

Highlights:

Exterior
The entire exterior finish is very presentable and appears to have only one re-paint using polyurethane with clear coat prior to the current owner taking possession of the car. It appears that the trim was removed in some areas, but not in others. There is some very light flaking on the turn signal housings on top of the fenders. Some minor cracks appear around the tail lights and the light lenses for the tail and fog lights have some minor checking. There is absolutely NO rust on this car and does not look as though any floor or body panel work was ever done. All sides of the car are laser straight with uniform gaps throughout. All chrome and stainless trim are in very good to excellent condition for the vintage of the car.

Interior
The interior was correctly restored in 2005 adorned in beautiful factory correct top grain Light Sandalwood leather. The carpet and top dash cover appears to have been replaced at the same time. All chrome and stainless interior trim pieces reflect the care this car has enjoyed.

Drivetrain
This Cadillac is turnkey and road ready. It rides, drives, and stops like it did the day it left the factory. The engine runs strong and does not use oil or produce any smoke. Transmission shifts smoothly as it should and the car accelerates nicely. The owner recently replaced various gaskets, belts, and hoses as needed, cleaned and painted parts of the engine. Also replaced was the transmission pan gasket, transmission mount, and changed the fluid. The front suspension appears to have had bushings, tie rods, etc. replaced.

Power and Non-Power Options
Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power Vent Regulators, Power Headlamp Auto-Dimming Control, Power Drivers Seat, Power vent window regulators, Remote Control Trunk Lock, Release, Power Door Locks, Cruise Control, Power Steering, Door guards, Soft Ray Glass, Radio w/Rear Speaker, Eldorado Paint and Trim Strips, Seat Belts were added. Build sheet and all documentation will go with the sale of vehicle.

This gorgeous Coupe de Ville is a very highly optioned, special order Cadillac that should not be overlooked. An original California specimen with incredibly rare bucket seat interior and other Eldorado Convertible-only features that may make it the only one in existence!
